The team of Abismo Anhumas is as important as the tour itself. Our nine monitors assure your safety when you are hung on to ropes and connectors. They are all highly qualified for accompanying tourists and, besides their large experience in the operation, they did several specialized courses to guarantee the success of this adventure.
The minimum training for becoming a monitor involves courses on first aid, cardiopulmonary reanimation, rock climbing, rescue at heights and public relations. The monitors have a long training period in the operation with the most experienced members in the team. They are only allowed to deal with tourists when they are fully prepared. All of them sweated a lot to see you sweating too.
Besides all the technical attributes, the team is very communicative and high-spirited. If you need any information, don’t be shy and ask them. They are already used to encourage people to enjoy what is down there. Now know a little bit more about our monitors.
" Tio" Eddie , 32. Biólogo, responsável técnico pela parte ambiental e operacional do Abismo Anhumas desde 1998. Primeiro autor do Plano de Manejo Espeleológico do Abismo, acompanha de perto as atividades o que proporciona um monitoramento ambiental de longo termo. Fez parte da Expedição Anhumas, em 1996, quando o fundo do lago foi atingido pela primeira vez e é espeleólogo. Aladdin, “Alabala”,33. In the Abismo since October 1999, is a real veteran. Was invited to participate in the French-Brazilian expedition “Bahia 2001”, promoted by the Bambuí Group in the Ramalho Sierra, as well as in the specialization in Rafting/Kayaking in Chapada dos Veadeiros in 2002.(EMAIL:alabala@abismoanhumas.com.br) .
Maiko, 26. An experienced diver from Bonito (Rescue Diver – PADI), guided many people in the rivers in the region and in the lake of the abyss in the period 1996-2000. When was participating in an Italian-Brazilian expedition in 1996, did a course on Vertical Techniques applied to Speleology. In 2001 participated in the implantation of the Serraventura Vertical Park in Bonito, where he worked as a rappel and tyrolese monitor. In 2002 did a specialization in Rafting/Kayaking in Chapada dos Veadeiros. Is in the team of Abismo Anhumas for two years.(EMAIL: maiko@abismoanhumas.com.br)
Márcio ,34. After a course on Survival in the Jungle in 1994, participated in the structuring of expeditions at Serraventura where he worked for four years opening trails, creating programs and guiding visitors through the high walls in the Bodoquena Sierra. Twelve years of experience with mountain bike are also part of his history, besides being a diver from PADI and having done several courses, including a Previ-fogo training against fire.(EMAIL: marcio@abismoanhumas.com.br).
Ciele , 22. Nossa primeira "Monitora", está no Abismo desde de 01/06/2006, ja fez vários cursos de técnicas verticais, tem experiência com "Arvorismo" entre outros cursos de "Resgate em Altura".

Miguel ,23. Did courses on First Aid, Vertical Techniques, Basic Climbing and Advanced Scuba Diving. Was diving guide in the Bonito Aventura for one year and a half. Is in the team since January 2002.
